  • GIRL SCOUT MISSION
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Welcome! Please use this form to apply for Financial Assistance for girls and adults. Please call 518-489-8110 or email  CustomerCare@GirlScoutsNENY.org if you have questions or need assistance.

    ABOUT THIS APPLICATION

Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York (GSNENY) maintains funds for financial assistance to help ensure everyone can join and participate fully in Girl Scouts.

Financial Assistance applications are accepted year-round. Please allow up to 10 business days for processing. Incomplete applications will delay decisions.

Awards are made based on the applicant’s financial need, and the availability of funds.

In instances where financial disclosures are required, we use a rubric that takes into account income and family size. Additional factors may be considered including participation in product sales programs which allow members to earn money that can be used to pay for Girl Scout programming. A committee assists in reviewing applications that do not meet the financial criteria but for which extenuating circumstances exist.

Due to limited funds, GSNENY does not currently offer financial assistance for adults wishing to acquire a uniform or attend a youth program that requires adult registration. GSNENY is unable to provide financial assistance for troop or service unit-sponsored activities.

In February, GSNENY temporarily paused Financial Assistance requests for uniforms in anticipation of an increase in membership funding requests following the GSUSA dues increase, which took effect for Early Renewal and Extended Year on April 1.  With limited dollars available, our priority is to ensure that financial assistance remains accessible to girls and adult volunteers who wish to join Girl Scouts but need support to do so.  We promised an update to SUMs before the end of April, and this is our update.

After thoughtful consideration, consultation with delegates and members of the Board of Directors, and a review of practices from other Girl Scout councils, GSNENY has updated its uniform support policy. Beginning August 1st, requests for Financial Assistance for uniforms will again be accepted and will cover pin tabs and required pins only.  We understand this change may be disappointing to some, but we believe it allows us to make the most meaningful impact with our available resources and continue advancing our mission.

Please fill in all required fields as incomplete applications will be delayed. If you have questions or need assistance, email customercare@girlscoutsneny.org or call 518-489-8110.
