Request a Bank Letter

Girl Scout Volunteers have the authority to open a Girl Scout Troop or Service Unit Bank Account following the instructions below:

All troops and service unit bank accounts must provide the following information:

A letter provided by Volunteer Services on Girl Scouts Letterhead
Their 4 digit troop number or 3 digit Service Unit Number
FEID letter with 501c3 tax exempt verification
Signatures of two unrelated background checked adult members of Girl Scouts

In addition, GSNENY's CEO and CAO will be able to oversee the accounts and request closures.

I am a signer for the GSNENY account listed above and I understand that signers are responsible for the proper use of troop funds. All money received must be deposited immediately into the checking account and the signers must maintain documentation of all receipts and disbursements. Signers must make available bank statements, checks, checkbooks, to all girl members and their parents at meetings; and provide all financial information and documentation requested by GSNENY on a timely basis. By opening a bank account in this troops name, signers acknowledge and accept full legal and financial responsibility for any and all debts or obligations arising from the use of that account.
